Learning Linux from Scratch

Hey guys,

Do you have any good recommendations for someone that wants to learn Linux properly? I have been using Mankato Xfce for three years and before that I was running a Ubuntu distro. Sadly, after all those years of Linux experience the terminal remains as intimidating as ever.

I only know a handful of commands. Every time I wanted to do something outside my capacities I would run to the forums for help and simply copy paste solutions. If that was not enough I would tinker a bit until I find the solution or give up. As a result I hardly remember any of the commands I used, let alone their function.

I feel it is time to get past my terminal phobia and start learning how to use Linux properly. I am thinking of abandoning Manjaro and switching to Arch. I figured that getting rid of GUI is the only way forward.

What are some good books, or online course recommendations for someone that wants to be a knowledgeable and independent Linux user?
