Also, every astronaught i've heard talk about the stars from space says that there are a shitload more visible but they seem more "dim/less bright" while in space. Like the light is not as intense for whatever reason. The best would be the far side of the Moon during a terrestrial eclipse, that's about as dark as you could possibly get.
