The fact that the center point being drilled is now absolutely immobile and centered instead of being spun and inheriting that "right hand" walking that a drill will do because of how it operates means it will be more accurate. With the center immobile and the increased inertia from the work piece being spun instead of smaller drill means it will be less likely to spin off course.
It's much like how a gyro will remain more unchanged to outside forces if it has more mass that a lighter one that's the same size and rotating at the same rate.
