I have a magnetic stirrer, but I don't have a magnetic stirrer with a hot plate. I need to heat up a solute until it dissolves, and I feel that I could achieve dissolution with less heat, as to prevent any potential damage to the solute, if I were to use a magnetic stirrer. Any suggestions?

Also, what would be the best scale that's accurate to the milligram? I wouldn't want to buy low-quality a scale that's a milligram or two off.
