What is the best foreign language to accompany a BS in Mathematics? My uni offers Mandarin which I am very much considering but I’m worried I might be too much of a brainlet to venture too far out from the Latin languages.

Russia/Chinese are useless. Just learn a programming language instead to augment your mathematics. That will take you far. Programming language is universal

Memorizing a long list of ciphers for English words you already know will be a waste of your time.
If you actually want to learn a natural language for the sake of improving your general cognitive skills, choose one from a different language family, or don't bother at all.

I was speaking from a professional standpoint, in which English has become the lingua franca. There's a lot of good reasons to learn a foreign language, but they're generally a terrible investment of time if looking at it purely for a resume or leg-up in the job market.
