We live in 2020.

But still there are no cures for:

>diabetes
>cancer
>alzheimers
>hearing loss
>parkinson
>ms
>autoimmune diseases
>rheumatic disorders

Why is nothing happening?

Somewhat, sure. But, as I said on a similar thread, a moot point. Society isn't likely to loosen up any time soon, seeing as this societal change originates mid-1900s, or so.

There might not be cures, but a lot of those diseases can be treated in a way that makes the patient's life longer and more bearable.
Just look at AIDS, not that long ago if you had found out you have AIDS you basically had to say goodbye to your loved ones, write up a will ASAP and either go through your bucket list or put a bullet in your head to get it over with.
Nowadays people can live for many years while suffering from it, some people with HIV even live for decades after the initial diagnosis.

Notice how it's fine to pump full of antibiotics, but terror the thought of injecting vitamin C. No no.

There are several urban legends regarding advancement I grew up hearing like origins of the green monkey and first human clones. After analyzing you’d realize the predicament. For example a group of medical researchers and scientists wanted legal evidence because of a hunch. So through careful observation of old newspaper articles they gathered info on historical big time donors. For example contractors whom used their own inheritance to create a future for us all. What they did was set out on cloning them. And they did. In conclusion what they witnessed was something horrendous and they were right in their hunch.

Far from! Survival on all the things you mention has increased (except diabetes, where drugs prevent some end organ damage in kidneys, eyes etc but not overall mortality) over the last few decades and continues to do so.

That there isn't some majestic "man cures all cancer" event is just a sign that the low hanging fruit for making big strides with small effort have likely been picked and we're making progress in smaller but significant areas. It doesn't mean one such thing cannot ever happen, but it also doesn't mean the lack thereof says we're not making progress.
