Basically the number line wraps around at infinity then goes negative and finally back to zero.
The total number of positive numbers is slightly less than the total number of negative numbers. Because negative infinity is slightly larger than positive infinity, summing all numbers leads to the -1/12 that remains.

The axiom of infinity, specifically, states that AT LEAST ONE infinite set exists, consisting of the natural numbers.
Mathematicians like to use infinity outside of this context for some reason. Results are notably garbled.

1 = 0.9999...
1/3 = 0.3333...
0! = 1
x ^ 0 = 1

define a few rules and see where their implications take you. math is there to be discovered, not stamp-collected.

Bait but no, the sum diverges. The Ramanujan sum of the series, which is an entirely different operation, equals -1/12. Retard pop sci journalists dropped the word Ramanujan and erroneously reported that the sum is -1/12, creating math's greatest PR disaster that you see here.
