A particle's mass is the same as the strength of its coupling to the Higgs field (up to some constant factor and maybe a square root); likewise a particle's electric charge is the same as its coupling to the photon field. Electrons have charge because the couple to the photon, neutrinos don't have charge because they don't couple to the photon.
Spin isn't determined this way, since this is a fundamental property of the fields themselves. It is determined by how the particle transforms under Lorentz transformations: in other words, it's non-dynamical.
