If we were to pick people out from a mall or something, and ask them for a random number, would we expect to see some sort of pattern in which number they choose?
I think an important distinction we would want to consider is whether we asked them to write down a number versus the case where they are asked to vocalize/speak a random number. In the latter case I assume you would see numbers 1-10 much more frequently, or maybe 1-100.
But if you handed them a slip of paper and asked them to write down a random number, most likely some of them would write sequences of arbitrarily chosen digits 192,030,712 and 74,827,102 or 8.72669 etc.
