What is the point of an intelligent god? Why can't the universe just be a thing that exists with no creator
I don't understand why the entity which defines causality and time must be bound by them and require an originator

Am I just dumb? Why couldn't the universe just be a cyclical process or something that just "is"? I've been reading theology for weeks and still don't get it.
