>>12517811>Im yet to hear anyone tell me ehat the major costs with a baby are. Some tiny clothes and a few grams of food a day? Why foes this meme even exist?Food and utility costs go up as they grow up, there's the opportunity cost of the mother staying home to take care of the children (or the actual costs of daycare/babysitters), not to mention the costs of college (even if subsidized with scholarships), as well as initial funds to get your children set up in adult life and continuing support as they find their footing, such as helping them with rent, or helping them to buy a house, paying off loans, etc (which you SHOULD be doing, it's the only way that generational wealth is built. Boomers and their "shove them out of the nest at 18" mentality is cancer.)
It's not the life ruining cost that people meme about, but if you want to set up your children to have a good life and do better than you, it does require a lot of planning and investment. Thankfully the actual day-to-day stuff gets easier as you have more kids, since they can help take care of each other. Make sure the teens get jobs too to start buying some of their own food/expenses, as well as saving spending money for college.
