I’m really into ciphers and have an algorithm for a novel cipher I’d like to mess around with, but my method requires a lot of calculation and translating a paragraph would take a long time. I think I’d be better off making a program for it but I don’t know anything about computer programming, barely know how to use Excel (my family was always into limiting screen time so I have to figure this stuff out as an adult). When I look into it there are a ton of languages and methods out there, it’s overwhelming and I don’t know where to start. All I want to do is throw together some simple encryption/decryption with the ciphers I’ve been playing with, is one programming language best for this? Am I even asking the right question here?
