When someone is at risk for subacute endocarditis such as someone with prior endocarditis or CHD or prosthetic valves, then a dental procedure will increase the risk of strep viridans subacute endocarditis. But you get antibiotic prophylaxis for that (usually amoxicillin).

Ok was confused with what he was saying at first.

There's some evidence that unfinished RTCs are associated with CHD. But he is greatly exaggerating his numbers.

Interesting but how many people of the typical age to have cardiac problems already have root canals? Seems like it is a common procedure after 40. The other question is what are the alternatives? At the very end he mentions extraction, which I'm wondering why it is better as the bone/blood vessels are also exposed when the tooth is removed. At that point, what's next? Dentures? Do implants suffer from the same problem as root canals?
None of this is to say he is wrong. The correlation certainly warrants investigation but without understanding the alternatives, anyone with an infected tooth isn't given much choice in what to do.

A root canal is needed when the inside of a tooth is infected or deteriorated or whatever, right? Well, the health of a tooth's interior, including repulsion of infections, has a large dependency on its blood supply. Poor blood flow = no white or red blood cells = meaning sick tooth. If that poor blood flow exists here who's to say it doesn't or won't exist elsewhere?
A person who needs a root canal, and has those underlying dental issues, is also likely going to have an underlying circulatory issue. The stress of "oh my god, root canals suck" also doesn't help.
