Okay. The center $C$ of the circle connects to the midpoint $M$ of the vertical line,
forming a horizontal line of length $c: c^2 + 2^2 = (r-3)^2$ .
The distance from $C$ to the bottom intersection of the vertical line must be $r: r^2 = 6^2 + c^2$ .
Hence, $c^2 = (r-3)^2 - 4 = r^2 - 36$ .
Consequently, $-6r+5 = - 36$ , or $r = 6\frac{5}{6}$ .

It's straightforward if one figures out how to get the circumference of a circle that touches the end of a cross - like the Christian one. After that, the linearity of rotations solves it

Correct, similarly you could use intersecting chord theorem to deduce that the rest of the diameter has length 8*4/3 = 32/3

Hence the diameter is 32/3 + 3 = 41/3 and so the radius is 41/6
