You are on death row. The cell you are in has walls covered with a thick material which provides soundproofing (used to keep the screaming in). However, you are aware that there is another prisoner in the cell next to yours, you had seen him when you came in.
Late into the night you hear a metal clanging from inside the wall. Using your spoon and nails you are able to dig out the wall until you are met with a thick metal barrier. The clanging continues. If it were not for this metal wall, you would be in your neighbor’s cell, so surely he must be trying to communicate. However, when you yell there’s no sign that he can hear you.
