>>12494272>This jupiter deal made me wonder, what do I need to see Earth things with an astronomic telescope?Get a pair of good binocular or a spotting scope and then add a tripod to those.
Binoculars are nice because they reduce eyestrain a lot, so you don't get fed up after 2 minutes of watching things. Also very portable.
An astronomic telescope is very bulky, and very heavy, the sighting mechanisms are meant to scan the night sky, not the earth surface so targeting a position you see with your naked eye is already a hassle. The image is inverted and you have a monocular viewing piece. The overall experience is trying to repair a bike tire while sitting on the bike saddle, it's unergonomical in the extreme and you'll not do it more than once unless you get paid for it or if you're viewing some seriously nice tits.
For the same price you'll get a good pair of binoculars or a good spotting scope, that are actually pleasant to use, portable and convienty for a lot of things.
