Putting aside whether it’s realistic or feasible, I simply want to know if it’s at least possible to create a space elevator by constructing what is essentially the tallest mountain that can physically exist. Assume that the quantity of materials needed to build said mountain can be infinitely mined from asteroids and every inch of the Earth can be appropriated towards this project without regard for countries objecting to the proposal, the only obstacles I want to hear about are those related to actual physical laws that would potentially be a problem.
