I'm not joking, I think I just witnessed a supernova. I first saw it about an hour ago so it was broad daylight here in San Diego. I look up and see a star in the sky. I thought at first it might be a balloon, or high altitude plane, but it never moved. It appeared about the width of a hand to the north east of the moon. And I can still see it, however the sun is going down and it may just blend in with the other stars soon. There's no way it's a planet because it was visible during the day. Pic related is a photo in broad daylight. It's really dark because I was trying to darken the image as much as possible to see if I could see what it was, but it's just a point of light.
