Also, they are greatly underestimating the rate at which birth rates will drop worldwide over time, all of the demographic models have the birth rate trending to an average of 2.1 children /woman by 2100 in almost every country for literally no reason other than that it makes for pretty graphs and clean models.
There is, of course, no discussion of the possibility that expected birth rates in a given family could be at least partially influenced by genetics either. Even a tiny effect from this would balloon out over the course of centuries and cause natural selection in favor of those who reproduce more. You don't even need to bring ethnicity into the equation for this to potentially be the case, though it's not impossible that some amount of variation could exist on that level as well, if we assume there is any genetic component to it at all.
