>>12484690OP, I don't know if you're American, but at local college, you can take lower math courses like Algebra to prepare for Calculus. Yeah, you should have learned it in high school, but some people are so bad, they have to start so far back to even pre-algebra. Local colleges have courses for that, even if you were supposed to learn that in junior high. Basically, you don't have to prepare for uni math because local colleges offer courses to make up that time. On the other hand, being able to pass Algebra and Calculus is a high indicator of success and the fact that 90% of students can't do it is a bit concerning. All in all, American Education system is fucked anyways. All the money is wasted because "if we don't use it, we don't get anymore!" when they don't even need it in the first place. It doesn't benefit students by any metric, only the actual facility which they'll leave anyways. Please save us.
