I understand it is a trippy subject to grasp. Think of it this way.
In your dream, you see yourself in new york city. Then you go to Los Angeles and see that it has rained last night there.
What does this example tell you?
You never saw that rain yet it exists. And all that city, that rain and everything else is not real. It is your consciousness and consciousness alone that has created that dream. The matter does not exist.
The same is the concept here. Nothing exists except consciousness. Consciousness was always there. That tree that universe is concious. So, to answer your question, If all so called living beings suddenly blacked out, the universe will exist. Because the universe itself is created out of conciousness.
