Explain deeper? Euro truck simulator is fun if you like trucks, planes sims are enjoyable if you like planes... also they are less tiresome than doing it IRL and generaly more fast paced.

Like I would willingly grind for hours to level up, but get lazy when it comes to IRL responsibilities that are objectively more interesting (homework, research, exercise, etc).

You are probably playing video games to avoid doing chores or after doing chores, so either instant gratification or just killing time is better than doing chores.

The games are designed for instant gratification. The “tasks” you are doing in the game are way oversimplified and easier than if you did the same task in real life. So of course you like doing the simple easy task, it feels good to complete it and doesn’t require real effort, like a real life task does
