How do wells work? Underground should be colder away from sunlight so why not the water freeze during winter? Does the lava at Earth's core keep it liquid?
Also how come digging deep enough always gets water? Does it even in desert? Is there a whole layer of Earth that is just liquid water, and if so, why doesn't the rock and dirt layer above it sink? And if there is always water when you dig deep, why are caves made of rock not water even when you go really really deep in caves?
And if there is ever an apocalypse and society shuts down, and I need water to drink, can I just dig a really deep hole with a shovel to get water?
