You might be too much of a man baby for a woman to want to take you on. You might be afraid of women due to your mother's hateful child rearing practices. You might be trying for girls far out of your league. You might not have a job (or a decent job,) or your own place. All these things can shatter your confidence (t. been there don that.) As some friends told me, get a job before you do anything else. They were right but I never got a job (that I kept for more than six weeks,) so by skipping that major milestone in life I am a life long loner. I also could have made a real effort to get my own place but my hostile family, lead by my mother, make it cheap for me to live in one of her houses. So I'm a really weird loner, wasting away in the suburbs wishing I was a better man but knowing I would have to get a job to be such. Thus, fuck it. Life long loneliness for me. It's miserable at times but I do get to sleep for 12 hours each night.
