All of modern science is just a refinement of Ancient Greek philosophy and mathematics, which itself was just a refinement of our intuitive understanding of culture, psychology, and the natural world.
Literally everything from calculus to evolutionary theory, and even ongoing debates in modern neuroscience and physics, were either explicitly discussed by the ancient Greeks, or foreshadowed by them in some form.
All of reality is governed by scientific laws, and although the specific laws at work in a particular domain might be different, all of these laws are similar in their structure, and generally simple and easy to understand. Of course, in many cases, working out the details in a practical context may be humanly, or even computationally, impossible, but the scientific laws governing natural phenomenon are generally fairly simple and quite similar to one another. A good example is the fact that conservation laws appear all over physics and chemistry, or the fact that evolutionary/selective process govern all sorts of systems, not just organic lifeforms.
