>>12476190Because women tend to be interested in different things than men. Through our evolution the sexes have developed a different set of skills of a different set of tasks.
This idea of more women in STEM, stems from a long neomarxist tradition of interpreting injustice in a world where it is really their philosophy which interprets the world wrong. The thesis usually goes something like this:
1. All people are fundamentally equal, regardless of race, gender, sexuality, or class, such classifications are considrered pure social constructs
2. We see that different demographics of the preceived social constructs life different lives, and that some demographics are on average living better lives than others
3. Since all demographics of the preceived social contructs are fundamentally equal, there must be injustice and discrimination at hand
It is fairly easy to demonstrate that this logic is fundamentally flawed, as we can easily prove that there is real, biological differences between these preceived "social constructs". There is a reality to gender and race, and that reality has very much to do with the differences we observe between said demographics.
