Victor Davis Hanson claims if you learn Latin and read the original classics like Cicero in Latin you will speak and write better english, Latin is like a language 'model' where it's much easier to understand more complicated grammar like English.

Write your own language with your own symbols and meanings, then be able to go back into normal English and compare what others wrote to what you have written.

In theory you could go to libraryofbabel.info and read literally every possible configuration of every single possible book ever written in the world and then you would have already read everything in existence therefore you wouldn't need to even ask this question.

Unironically did this. Although I think my reading and writing skills enabled me to do this more than it enhanced my native ones. Although now I can't help but wonder if it did help.

Originally it was for fun and because dysgraphia made normal writing hard.

Read interesting books. Read easy young adult novels and practice visualizing what is happening in your mind eye. Increase the complexity of book as you get better until you can easily visualize and comprehend even the driest book. Self tests are also useful

sometimes the answers are in the same text but sometimes you need to infer
questioning texts is the most productive way to comprehend texts I've found

another useful technique is to elaborate:

>blank sheet of paper
>annotate the most important ideas
>try to explain yourself what the ideas are about
good for papers but not for longer texts, for longer texts you need to read a whole chapter and sometimes many chapters to reach an intuition
