Instead of designating female-only scholarships, research grants, and internships - why don't we re-establish a meritocracy? Perhaps to prove a point, produce female-only laboratories and allow them to demonstrate their ability to produce research. We will quickly realize that they are not productive and incapable of obtaining grant money, at which point, we will have a definitive understanding as to why women don't prosper in STEM?
For the record, I don't think such piloted project in necessary, but it could convince administration that the catering to incompetent women is an error.
