Anywhere in the middle of a large tectonic plate will be low in earthquakes, so assuming you live in the US, places like the Midwest/East coast will be fairly earthquake free, and for the rest of the world, large swathes of Eurasia, most of the Southern Americas, Africa, Australia and eastern Canada will also have low earthquake threats. However in these areas it is still recommended that you stay away from the odd volcano that doesn't occur at a plate boundary, as these can cause earthquakes and otherwise ruin your day. The red coloring in the map designated areas with smaller plate boundaries however these plates are moving in conjunction with the larger plates around them, leaving less chance of major movement between the plates and therefore less chances of earthquakes.
