we are breeding dogs for millennia. even so we didnt manage to create a new species even if evolution tells us that this should happen. the only thing we managed to create are reskinned wolves.

we didnt manage to do it with any bird, horses, cows you name it.

Yhea because no one specifically set out to do that. You would have to isolate a species and let them do thier thing for... a long time without the og species interbreed at all.

Different breeds of dogs would definitely be classified as different species if we weren't the ones doing the artificial selection. There are also breeds of horses and cows so idk what your second line means.

Honestly the real issue is just that the question of "what is a species" hasn't been answered so the classification of the different species doesn't follow any kind of framework and ultimately makes very little sense.

it has a rough definition that gets complicated. in the example of dogs, dogs can breed with any other type of dog. this is because us humans can jerk off the chihuahua and take that cum and inject it into a great Dane to impregnate the great dane. these dogs are to be treated such that their environment is the human context such that this is a thing that can happen. thus they are the same species. now lets say we some how take the chihuahua out of the human context and the great dane. basically making them not dogs. these 2 animals cant breed with each other by humping with each other so they are 2 different species. im sure in rare circumstances they can manage to get cum into each other, maybe an exceptionally small great dane and a huge chihuahua but since for the vast majority of the time they cant and because of this they would not the same species. this is usually how we define it.

I don't think that's quite how it works. A donkey and a horse can breed though there offspring are most always sterile. There you have two species on the verge of complete divergance. I'm sure there's all kinds of data relating to that. But don't ask me for it.

sure they must be able to breed and create fertile offspring in their environment. donkeys and horses cant make fertile offspring thus they are not they same species. i was more talking about the environment side of things since its self evident that you must be able to breed and create fertile offspring. there are example of animals such as polar bears and grizzly bear who can create fertile offspring despite not being the same species. but because they have different mating rituals and other things that make this super rare they are different species.

there are different aspects of fertility compatibility other then cum touching egg making a baby that is fertile. being really big to the point that you cant breed with another type of animal could be one of them.
