Would it theoretically be possible to build a series of pipes to dump millions of gallons every day into parts of the Earth's deserts that are below sea level to avoid rising oceans?

Yes but actually no, the oceans make up 2/3rds of the earths surface while ~1/3rd of the land (1/3rd of earth) is below sea level. This gives us 1/9th of the earth absorbing the rise of 2/3rds of earth.
Considering most of this area is only a couple of meters below sea level it wouldn't take much volume to fill.

If we could reduce global average temperatures it should lead to the ice caps growing again, the glaciers wouldn't reform as that water has moved off the land but that shouldn't be a much of a difference.

Thinking about this you gave me an idea.
What if we flooded shallow areas below sea level in hot places that get plenty of sun.
>flood desert a couple of meters deep
>water evoporates
>creates reflective salt flat
>increases cloud cover reflecting more of the sun
>flood same area 1 meter deep
>with the reflective floor this water evaporates even faster
Sure we would be fucking up a desert pretty bad but I don't see why this wouldn't work as a stop-gap while we move away from fossil fuels.

The salt takes almost no volume (assuming the places would eventually fill up with salt) it just makes the water denser.

I support this but not for global warming. I want to see deserts flooded with sea water. You have to dig a tunnel to the ocean and it will fill by gravity. Hopefully these lakes should increase desert humidity.

Doesnt matter how deep or big the ocean is. The alleged rise depends on melting ice, the rest of the seawater wont magically expand. So we are comparing the volume of land depressions to the volumes of ice.

The simplest solution is to compress the water by taking both parts hydrogen and separating them into one from the oxygen. This gives us more oxygen in the air and lets us store the the h2 in smaller spaces than it would from a 1:1 joined with oxygen. Theoretically we could store the entire ocean on land, assuming we use elevation to our advantage, meaning we can build new infastructure and civilization where the ocean once was.

CO2 is farmable by utilizing the excess oxygen. Since oxygen is lighter than CO2 this makes it so we can create resource points to vacuum up the dense CO2. Since the ocean is now gone this would be relatively simple to accomplish.

Lowering the temperature would probably stop or reverse sea level rise obviously depending on the magnitude of the change. Sea levels have been slowly rising even before human induced climate change but the rate was much much slower. Lowering the temperature back to preindustrial levels would basically halt the sea level rise but it wouldn't make it reverse. To really reverse it you would have to lower it down even further to trigger new glaciation, especially if you want it done in a timely manner.

I didnt say they are separate. Its a solution, if you add salt to water both the volume and the density grows. Density is about 2.5% higher and volume 1% higher.

surface warming only penetrates a few meters at most. When oceans warm the heat is distributed throughout the entire ocean. Something like 90% of the surface's thermal energy is stored in the oceans.

Current estimates are about .4m of sea level rise per 1C of warming.
