Combination of western world childhood makes you forget your soul literally forget itself, you'll remember certain shape, but it somehow ruins the memory.
It's possible, if you feel strong pain, you'll never regain full experience.
You need to born in pleasure, therefore you need to feel intense pleasure of satisfied life in moment of death, to transfer enough big part of you to remember.
You need to have clear conscience, clear at the moment of enlightning experience and hightened wisdom, therefore it may seem it's clear from lower usual life perspective, but at moment of death you can remember you cased a damage.
Damage you caused, even one that you won't remember will be reflected on your soul.
e.g. I don't remember much of my life because of irresponsibility of making very uninformed decisions, and results harmed people a little bit. Then it was just little bit. Like the idea that selling gunpowder to west is good idea and ideas like that.
