Hypothetically, if we had a carbon capture device that could work incredibly efficiently and ran entirely on solar/nuclear/hydro/nuclear or some other carbon free energy, and it was able to capture billions and billions of tons of carbon over a few years, would the global temperatures drop back to their pre industrial revolution numbers?
From my understanding of the Green House gas effect the carbon being in the atmosphere is the main thing keeping the temperature so high, and increasing carbon is making it worse.
So hypothetically would sucking the carbon out of the air fix it?
