Why do lesser intelligents breed the most?

Think of the possibilities if more intelligents were breeding. We could be populating our first portion of the galaxy by now.

Because they are less intelligent.

Too incompentent to effectively use contraception, they need the familial support of many offspring later in life becaude of reduced earning potential due to lower intelligence. A host of other reasons, I'm sure.

Intelligent people don't want to commit themselves to raising kids endlessly because they have a sense of responsibility and know what it takes. Thus you had systems where the mother would stay home and so on, so that supporting large families would be possible. Dumb people and porch monkeys on the other hand just pop them out for whatever reason, and figure what shall be shall be. This wouldn't have worked back in the day, and it wouldn't have worked in colder climates either. They're too dumb and worn down to know or care what they're setting their children up for.

If the world was populated with only intelligent people, how would anyone be able to inflate their ego? Who would do the rough jobs that support the STEM industries, like manufacturing computer boards or precision equipment?

This always made me think, imagine a world where everyone was 'smart' and they had to play hot potato to see whom would have the shit jobs. If everyone had an IQ of 180, plumbers would be getting paid more than NASA rocket scientists, because the plumbers job would be considered mundane and gritty, and the NASA job exciting and relaxing.
