School is one of the worst breeding grounds to study science. Only retarded boomers justify this shit of a system.

I remember the physics test, it was so bullshit. I knew the rules and everything but when the test came, it looked so unfamiliar to what I got; pic related.

60% of your grade in German schools is made up of class participation. You can imagine how much the grading can be influenced by sympathy. Quieter people are also at a disadvantage as well as people that don't want to repeat the same answer 5 times.

I agree that you need people to be able to communicate well but they already should have that acquired by 10th grade. That system should end at some point and should be replaced by assignments, test and so on. (The last 2 years determine your GPA for university)

school physics is absolute babby-tier, 80% of it is applying dead-simple formulas, the other 20% is figuring out which formula to choose

Yes that is what happens in German highschools. (We place people in different schools for different levels) In universities however that is totally absent so you can imagine how badly prepared so many people are for higher education. Germany has a vocational training system in place that a lot of people go for. You can imagine that this kind of school system is excellent for vocational programs. However it's totally useless if you are in a school that is supposed to ptepare you for university.

For what subject? Make sure to take the SAT and relevant AP classes since a normal highschool diploma is not recognized as equivalent to a German abitur.

Keep in mind that there is a huge difference between a university of applied sciences (Hochschule / Fachhochschule) and a normal university "Universität"

The former teaches you vocational and practical skills while the latter focuses on theory and research.

If you don't speak German your choices will be limited as far as undergraduate education goes. What subjects are you interested in?

Yeah, I hated school—particularly lectures in college. Popular/rich kids do better because they’re able to cheat more easily (more friends who have taken a class before to give them answers, more money to buy tutors, more access to resources in general etc).

And of course, many teachers, will treat good-looking students better. Research already shows that teachers are easier on girls.

Teachers themselves, aside from a few expensive private schools, are trash. Academia included. The truth is, academia is such a toilet, that scientists struggle to even replicate the studies of their peers and fail to produce a fraction of the R&D value that the private market generates.

It’s a bunch of bullshit. Full disclosure, I’m bragging but with the intention of consoling you. I scored a 1370/1600 on the SAT, got my degree in economics but was an average student at a good private school. I went to a top-50, but not Ivy League school, and regret paying for it every day—I could’ve went for about $20 grand total had I stayed in state and taken scholarship money.

The truth is, I learned very little in college aside from 1-2 advanced courses and I passed on grad school. I’m 30, and I make well over 100K a year with insane benefits, at a job that millions of young men would do for free (I see their resumes). I had a 2.7 GPA in college and failed physics in my first semester.

School is a joke but the flip side is, you can make a lot of money later while taking it easy now. Try at an 80% level and spend the other 20% chasing girls, and enjoying life. You’ll thank yourself later.

Yes, I am interested in science, particularly economics. I would have preferred to have an education system designed to educate me instead of a prison with competitions with my peers on who can memorize, cheat or kiss ass better. But the way the world is decaying, there’s no chance we’ll do better than this in the foreseeable future. So enjoy what you can.

I fucking hated college. I was missing 1 gen ed my senior year, so I took an into to psych class.
The entire thing was a complete farce. Everything was done in these online modules, and the TAs would straight up read out the test questions in the "test reviews" (that only 1/5 of the class actually showed up to, which is bizarre considering the teacher SAID they'd be reading test questions in class).
During finals I forgot to do one normal ass homework assignment. When the semester ended I saw that this single worksheet was weighted as 20% of my grade, putting me at a C with 79.5%
I was fucking livid and sent him a seething email threatening to take the matter to the dean, and the next week I had a 94.5%.

Fuck college. It's just an adult daycare with a bunch of bullshit tossed on to make it seem semi-legitimate.
