The unironic answer that all the spergs on this board are incapable of coming to grips with is that the ability to collaborate and effectively communicate ideas is more important to professional engineering work than being good at school.

The 3.1 GPA student who goes to office hours and forms connections with their professors and peers is going to be more successful than the 4.0 student who never talks to anyone.
