This is why we have to add miniscule amounts of aluminum to vaccines, the deactivated virus particles by themselves don't wake up the immune system enough by themselves for the antigens to be "remembered" by the body for a lifetime. Without the aluminum the vaccine can wear off in a year or earlier, which kind of defeats the purpose of vaccination in the first place.
I think the structure of COVID's receptor proteins is what inhibits permanent immunity.
