if you want something hardcore go for (((Goldstein))). It's a standard grad textbook in the US. If you want something lighter, go for Taylor.

Steel comes in 3 modes: Hard, soft and stainless. Chinese steel is subpar but good enough but 99% of applications (by weight) if you use thick enough beams. That will be $5000 thank you.
