Any psych clinicians in here?
I've been smoking weed every day for many years, but it occurred to me that I need close to 1000 hours of internship/practicum to finish my MA in clinical psych. Now, the marijuana doesn't impact my performance; I've got a 4.0 GPA and smoke a couple of grams a day. It's been nothing but a positive force in my life. Marijuana cured my anxiety and attention issues which were resistant to psychiatric medications.
I would not even consider quitting weed if it weren't for the fact that I don't know whether or not the internship/practicum positions I'm interested in drug test. I've got to start internship next Fall, so if they do a hair test I'd have to quit smoking within a few weeks from now and cut my hair (I've been growing it out for 5 years now).
Is there any way around this? Will a clinic really care if I piss positive for this harmless plant?
I really don't want to stop smoking weed; my grades will likely suffer alongside my mood. Before I was a daily smoker, I was a D-average student. With my daily habit, I am an A-student. What is the solution?
