Classical mechanics.

Why do people think they can discuss physics without knowing the basics? Classical mechanics underlies EVERYTHING - modern physics was built from it.

If you don't rigorously understand classical mechanics - Lagrangian and Hamiltonian mechanics - then you are a fucking normie.

Literally anytime someone tries to discuss physics with me I ask them what they think about the symmetry laws in Lagrangian and Hamiltonian mechanics. If they look at my confused then I tell them to SHUT THE FUCK UP.

One time my grandma was like, "Anon, I heard electrons act like waves AND particles OH MY! What's an electron exactly?"

I asked her if she could write the Lagrangian for an electron traveling in a magnetic field and she said, "What's a Lagrangian?"

"FUCK OFF GRANNY! GO BACK TO SCHOOL!"

Seriously, don't be like a fucking grandma.

Don't try to discuss physics with the big boys until you can observe ANY OBJECT/SYSTEM and write the Hamiltonian for it.

Pick up a book on classical mechanics, solve ALL THE PROBLEMS, then you may earn the privilege to share your dumb opinion about the quantum world.
