I'm male, and approximately 75% of my X chromosome came from my maternal grandmother, while 25% came from my maternal grandfather (and by consequence, his mother.)
But I got other chromosomes completely from one of the other. 11, 14, and 19 from grandmother, and 18 and 20 from grandfather.
So it doesn't seem X has any particular advantage in that sense.
