a little bit of water is in the oil and a little bit of oil is in the water but these phases cannot be mixed anymore.
if you use a mixer, then it will separate again afterwards.
but thermdynamic wont answer how long this would take, it can only answer what will be the result at the end.
additionally you could add an ionic liquid.
then you would have three liquid phases, depending on their density probably the ionic liquid at the bottom of the glass.
but it could also be between or above the other two phases.
so three liquids is also possible.
