yes. took lexapro for a year and it helped me get out of a multiple year rut and turn my life around
for me, the important thing was to learn that they don't work on their own. they make it easier for you to feel better but you still have to try

Ya, buspar and citalopram.
I don't like it but I am an autist without them.
They just kill the background anxiety I feel for no reason.
I know a few doctors/PAs/pharmacists that are on them, so I hope it doesn't fuck me up too bad.

Isn't it glorified lying to yourself? I've heard depression can be non serotonin but dopamine related and then only meth helps. Basically SSRI works because after you start taking it psychologist will talk you out of being bored or depressed, problem is when you stop it's there again.

You have to do something. Meth is kind of anti depressants.

Girlfriend at the time was convinced to take them. When she tried to get off she had seizures, so the docs added another daily medication! she became actually depressed because she could see there was no way off them for her & the doc ramped up the dose. We broke up during college but I saw here last year at a Christmas party and she is now a dead eyed balloon person. So yeah, hard pass.

It almost killed our relationship. We talked it out and she stopped taking them. Sex life is back to normal, headaches turned out to be tension headaches and she manages them with diet and good neck posture.

Nope, regular taper. The seizures started right after they hit zero milligrams. It instilled a deep fear, she had near panic attacks whenever we talked about trying to get off them again.

I am on some plant stuff (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypericum_perforatum) because my episode is getting better (so sth. light is okay) and I started a new job (randomly puking all over wont make the best impression). Am side effect free so far and having good results. I kinda forgot how it is to wake up in the morning and not worry about some shit with the first thought.

Don't get hooked on drugs. Use the drugs to lift yourself up from depressive episode and then use other methods to keep float. Aka exercise/social bonds with friends/family/hobbies/etc.

Dependencies on drug will make a fool of you.

i've been on escitalopram, venlafaxine, fluoxetine and changed to sertraline 3 weeks ago all of them made me feel miserably numb and suicidal and i'm starting to think that being less anxious is really not worth it, i'd rather feel the rush of adrenaline and cry and feel alive than whatever empty shell of a person i turned into on them, but i'm too mcuh of a faggot to quit because of withdrawals
