Electric Universe

My understand of it all is that in the center of the Milky Way is a supermassive black hole. The black hole has immense gravitational pull, but that pull is not nearly powerful enough, when subjected to math, to hold the galaxy together. In an attempt to explain the mysterious force holding the galaxy together scientists developed ideas including dark matter theorg, dark energy theory, and electric universe theory.

Could someone help me to understand the electric universe theory?

My preconceptions are that it means the galaxy behaves as a giant electric generator. The most common solid elements in the galaxy are iron and silicon, both well known for their electromagnetic qualities.
