speed of the arms is what determines the distance your arrow travels partially. many designs even historical ones have shitty speed and the distance isnt great. people watch movies and go well shit i just carve some wood and have this bad ass bow. no.wont even shoot 50 yards. a more modern version which was used for a cross bow had interlaced pullies in the arms and when its drawn back the pullies move apart from each other and when it fires they move closer which pulls in the line faster. in the 90s some guy made it. some types of composite bows work well with the offcenter pully wheels and classical recurve works ok
also your trigger is 3d printed may fail and cause a miss fire try to do it metal moving parts if you can. i made the following for something like that works fine for me. if the trigger fails the frame prevents misfire which the frame is poplar
