Many cases are caused by damage to the hairs in the ear. The hairs have been regrown in mice, has yet to be tried on humans, and I don't know if simply regrowing the hairs is enough. They need to map correctly to the brain.

Seriously. Cope. There will never be a cure and the sooner you accept that you'll be able to tune out the buzzing noises. Looking for a cure will only cause you more misery. "Just don't think about it" is the best advice but its fucking hard to achieve. You'll make it one day anon. Life WILL eventually return to normal.

When I first got tinnitus I couldn't sleep for a week and had multiple breakdowns. Six months of acceptance later I was mostly okay. Now its been a few years and I'll go weeks without realizing I still have it.

There is a technique where doctors find out the frequency of your tinnitus, delete those frequencies from music and let you listen to it for extended times. It seems to help, depending on the cause of it.
