This external brain is equivalent to living with cybernetic enhancements. The feedback part of cybernetics is rate-limited by thumbing stuff in and looking at a display, but it's good enough and simple and cheap.
That might seem boring. But the more you depend on technology the less you develop those skills yourself. The more dependent you become, the more you are merged with technology.
