Why is everyone in the CS field so fucking condescending?

Maybe it's just my department. I double majored in math and philosophy in undergrad and now I'm doing a masters in CS. My math and philosophy professors were surprisingly not condescending, but the CS people (students and professors) are almost unbearable. I feel like a useless cattle being herded around with the other thousand people in the CS department.
