>>12410705Pseudoscientific concepts mixed with studies whose results cannot be reproduced. Autism, ADHD, ASPD etc. are reduced to mere stereotypes and those labeled with the disorders are presumed to lack certain internal "cognitive traits" or abilities, even if the external presentation of the subject doesn't allow a psychiatrist or any of the other "mental health care" employees and employers to arrive at such a conclusion.
The psychopathological study of human in general is largely pseudoscientific because it relies on ad hoc assumptions that are taken as granted even if there exists no actual proof for it. For example, the chemical imbalance theory that is made responsible for depression and ADHD belong to those ad hoc assumptions that are simply assumed to be true even if studies are at best inconclusive.
So, what is Autism and ASPD?
As pointed out by
>>12410808, but with the ad hoc assumption that autistic people lack cognitive empathy, Autism is ultimately a perceived lack of communication skills comorbid with perceived obsessive-compulsive behavioral traits, which results in some kind of persistent impairment in daily life. That is, the impairment mostly happens in school settings. It is also associated with poor scores at standardized and mostly verbal IQ tests, which was actually a defining part ("mental retardation") of autism until quite recently. Ignoring that non-verbal autistics often never went to public school, often suffer from severe motoric dysfunction and have problems with the use of language.
Similarly, ASPD is nothing else than a perceived lack of pro-social behavior, behavior that does not violates social and cultural norms. Autistic people also often violate social norms. Yet, Autism is supposedly a cognitive impairment, whereas ASPD is an emotional impairment. Autistics can't, Anti-socials don't want to adhere to social norms.
