>>12410476There were a fair number of mistakes in the answers to the exercises, I'd say 1 or 2 per section. As far as I can tell there were very few (I can't recall any at the moment, so the number may in fact be zero) mistakes in the text.
The exercises were overall good, albeit in my opinion (a little bit) too easy. However, it is difficult to say whether or not they would be too easy to someone who has never seen the material before. They were, however, too numerous, especially concerning basic calculations in my opinion. He also has a habit of leaving the more calculation-heavy proofs for the reader. This was especially apparent in the last chapter of the book, which dealt with matrices and determinants.
For example, he may give you Exercise 1 consisting of parts a-j of calculating 3x3 determinants by expanding along the first row. Then Exercise 2 can be to do the same thing, for a-j again but now along the 2nd row. And then Exercise 3 would be to do it again but expand along the 3rd column.
However, repetition is the mother of learning, and as such it could be considered a feature. The last few exercises of each section I would call interesting, at least considering the level of the material, so there is a full range, from very easy to medium-challenging.
